Our Introduction Assignment

 we was to create a script ,poem , act or perform the song "feeling good" from the play "the roar of the greasepaint - the smell of the crowd" performed by the role of "the negro".
I had decided that I would sing it but add my own changes in dynamics and key lengths  to it. to do this id firstly sing the first to lines a Capella like Nina Simone does.

"birds flyin high you know how I feel
sun in the sky you know how I feel"

however I decided I would like an accompaniment that plays the main melody to begin on the word "breeze" however I would like to be a single accompaniment  until I get to the second "life" to continue as a Capella to create suspense and then begin again the end of the word "feelin" so that good begins the same way Nina Simone does it.

I decided to begin it this way because i feel that voice is best suited to be sang with anaccompaniment . the reason why i say this is because nina has a low, harsh voice thats able to do added adlims like "oooooooooh".

while this happens i pictured the background to be dark blue giving a casino theme  that to get brighter into a navy blue to give the late night theme but happy mood. the singer has a spotlight shine apon him or me. this is so the audience know that the main focus is "the negro" as theres more people in the scene however if I was directing the people would be leaving the stage as this happens or is still in the background giving the singer stage traveling ideas.

towards the end of the performance I would have people enterying the stage causaly to create and then towards the end of the word "good" the stage will slowly be lowering down.


I think that this task was useful because it allowed us a performers to visualise and change think it and how we might play with it and get the true meaning of the piece else's work

Our last Rehearsal of Musical Theatre

i felt that this rehearsal wasn't our best we had just be learning the new movements for 2 to 3 hours so we was tired andwe had people missing from out class so it was as effective as it was before. i felt personally felt dredged and needed a sugar boost because i kept forgeting to sing and the next moves. I just hoped that id have enough energy for the actual performance.

Final Performance

Lesson Four of Musical Theatre

in this lesson of musical theatre we talk what we wanted to do for our new project. Our teacher put us into groups of three and we in our groups did a mini trio performance. In my group was Dylan from second year and Alex from my class. We decided to perform "Candy Store"from 'heathers'.

After reviewing my performances I felt that a personal note for me was to project my voice and that had happened. 
I also think that my stage directions during the fight was impressive as I considered the audience while remembering my actions. 

For our musical theatre performance I thought what went well was that I remembered my words and performed at the choreography well.

A project of my voice and kept in character though I felt what could’ve went better was if I slowed down my ‘wizamania’ sections and remembered my breathing strategies. 

Reviewing acting

For the actors performance I reviewed Fava and Phil. I watched performance during tech rehearsals and I was amazed.

For project workshop I feel that I performed equally well and I could of looked better if i knew the steps completely. This probably confuse the audience. 

Lastly for Mcdale I probably should’ve rehearsed more and performed with more confidence because this made me lose character and made my performance really bad. However overall the performance was good I feel that the others did well by continuing and not losing the pace of the peace.
